Happy New Year--not yet

It's the new year already at home but not here in texas. We still have
45 minutes to go. 2008 has been a pretty difficult year for me.
Between starting the year off in a country that was in the middle of
political violence to seizures to MRIs to friends going through
relationship issues---I'm ready for a fresh start. It seems like it's
taking forever to get here too. I opened the year 7 hours ahead since
I was in kenya and I'm leaving the year an hour behind since I'm in
Texas. So 2008 has literally been the longest year of my life. And it
was a leap year! Meaning that in a normal year I live for 365 days--
but in 08 I lived 366 days and 8 hours.

So bring on the new year with new beginnings and a fresh outlook.

Everything is gonna be fine in the 09. Now I'm going to join this
party around me and count off the new year.

Happy New Year, Everybody!!

Yuhsien's Texas Home

It's New Year's Eve and I am chillin in the villa otherwise known as
Yuhsien's home in Texas. It's a lovely home with huge rooms and very
tall ceilings. My sister would love to come decorate it I am sure.

We got in very late last night from the restaurant. I know that it
seems like all I've done since I've been here is eat. Well my best
friend's mom owns a restaurant and is a fabulous cook, what else would
we be doing???!!!!

On today's agenda--pedicures! I wish I had brought my sandals. Liling
also said something about finding me a Mexican man to impregnate me
because Mexicans and Blacks make beautiful babies according to her.
We'll see if we can fit that in the schedule :). Hardeee har har!

I always have a grand adventure when I come here I wish I could afford
to more often. After looking over my bills with Yuhsien last night
well let's just say that 2009 probably won't have as many trips as I
have gotten used to having.

Fried bananas

This picture isn't very clear because someone who is blind took this
shot. I think she did pretty good considering that!

More food

I don't remember the name of this kind of meat but it is the glands of
a cow. It tastes like liver. Apparently Liling makes it better than
anyone has ever tasted before with no oil/fat. And she made this and
the deer meat in less than fifteen minutes. Woooooowwwww! And it was
delicious especially the dear.
